Jess reveals the soundtrack to her life

Music is an important part of Jess’ training regime and if you’ve ever wondered what’s on her playlist, then a recent BBC show had all the answers.

Jess appeared on Training Tunes with Trevor Nelson, where she discussed which songs get her motivated and have provided memorable moments throughout her life.

“I definitely use music to pick me up and motivate me,” explained Jess.

She revealed that before the 800m race at the London 2012 Olympics, Massive Attack’s Unfinished Sympathy helped keep her focused. Jess had been listening to it off-track and, as if by coincidence, it was also playing as she entered the arena. She went on to win a gold medal.
Other songs to feature included Otis Redding’s Try A Little Tenderness, which she and Andy chose as the first dance at their wedding.

Jess’ training tunes were:
Ja Rule – Livin’ in Up
Alessia Cara – Here
Jay-Z – Public Service Announcement
Maxwell – This Woman’s Work
Massive Attack – Unfinished Sympathy
Spice Girls – Say You’ll Be There
Otis Redding – Try A Little Tenderness
Stormzy – Shut Up
