This weekend will see World and Olympic heptathlon champion Jessica Ennis-Hill make her first ever appearance at Stadtwerke Ratingen Mehrkampf-Meeting in Germany.
First Heptathlon of the season
Jess will compete at the IAAF Combined Events Challenge competition on 25th and 26th June.
After withdrawing from the Hypomeeting in Gotzis, the 30-year-old Briton will now compete in Ratingen at her only heptathlon before the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
“We are very proud that Jessica Ennis-Hill has committed to compete in Ratingen,”
said DLV event director Marco Buxmann.
“It also gives the German heptathletes a great challenge ahead of the Olympics.”
Germany’s Carolin Schafer, who competed in Gotzis will be among Ennis-Hill’s opponents in Ratingen. Olympic silver medallist Lilli Schwarzkopf, 2009 world silver medallist Jennifer Oeser and Claudia Rath also attend.
