Jessica Ennis-Hill began her competitive preparation for the Olympics by competing in the javelin at Loughborough International on Sunday.
The Sheffield athlete has not competed this season due to injury but threw a modest distance of 41.69m. Her personal best in this event is 48.33m.
The Olympics in Rio begin in August with the Heptathlon one of the earliest in the schedule.
Jessica was asked about her injury and commented “My Achilles actually feels really good,”.
“The work I’ve done with the medical team – and the rehab and just making sure we get it right – has really worked.”
Jessica will not be competing at the Hypo-Meeting in Gotzis next weekend. An event she has attended and won several time in the past. She has already qualified for Rio 2016.
