After a serious foot injury in 2008, Jessica switched take-off foot for the Long Jump. After 3 years jumping off her left foot, she’s now back jumping from her dominant right foot. Read on for her result at the Olympics in Rio.
Her last outing in Ratingen produced an all-time PB of 6.63m, so she is in good form.
Today her right foot didn’t serve her well – 956 points toward her total, from a distance of 6.34m.
Two more events to go. Jessica currently sits in 2nd place overall. The javelin is next and her coach for this event is former British Javelin thrower Mick Hill. He’ll be nervous!
Coverage of the javelin starts Saturday at midnight on BBC One.
